• Hi, when I activate Redis Object Cache Plugin with The Events Calendar (I pay for Pro) and I navigate to the Events page I get an error saying “something great is coming”. I turn off Redis and it runs fine.

All my plugins are up to date. Have you heard of any clashes with REDIS?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hey @o0craigb0o

    Thank you for reaching out.
Yikes! Let’s work on fixing this.

I believe that what’s going on is that certain caching settings are not playing nicely with our plugin. The good news is that the solution is usually a few tweaks away.

Most of the time, it’s all about excluding some URLs from minification or caching.
To get a sense of how that works on the most popular caching plugins, I would recommend taking a look at some of our Knowledge Base articles on caching: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/?s=cache&post_type%5B%5D=tribe-knowledgebase&submit=

Let me know how that goes!

Ok so I implemented all those changes and alas..same issues I’m afraid. Any other ideas?

    Hi there,

    Thanks for reaching out.

We are not aware of any current issues with Redis Object Cache.

Did this problem start after any plugin updates from our end?

    Best regards,

    Marho

    Yes it did.

It looks like I may need to put memcache onto the site and see where i get with that.
