• Dear,

Your plugin’s Auto-detect works good with Poppins & Lato. However, I’m facing problem with Roboto fonts. Your plugin doesn’t find it through Autodetect, and even if I add it manually, the fonts are still loading from google domain. I made sure to clear cache from browser, hosting, memcached and cloudflare.

    See video : https://gevcen.tinytake.com/tt/NDE3NDIzMV8xMjk0MjU2Mw

    Can you help?
    Thanks

  • What’s your site URL?

That site doesn’t use Roboto at all. It’s a good thing the plugin doesn’t detect it, then.

You should remove the dns-prefetch links to the various Google domains, because you’re not using them. All of your fonts are loaded from the OMGF cache.

Besides that, I see a lot of calls to Google Maps API. If you’re loading a map anywhere, this might be loading the roboto font.

How did you reach the conclusion that I don’t load the Roboto font ?

You have a single CSS file on the site, and it mentions Lato, Poppins, Woodmart and Icon-Close, but not Roboto. If this font is loaded, it’s not on the home page.

You can check this in the browser’s code inspector.

On some page loads, your home page loads other fonts from the Tawk widget and other scripts.

I’m sorry, your answer isn’t very clearifying things to me.

    – So now what is this a bug or is it the expected behavior?

    – Do you think the font is loaded altough not being used ?

    – Altough the connection is made to the google server on the page I sent you, do you think I should rather remove the dns preconnect?

    Thanks

I’m saying that the use of Roboto is unrelated to the OMGF plugin, and therefore, is not a bug.

Roboto may be loaded on certain devices, but not by your site’s theme, so you have no control over this.

You can only remove preconnect/prefetch elements if you’ve put them in. If some plugin is adding them, then again, you have no control over this.

OMGF does not require preconnecting or prefetching anything from Google servers. That’s the whole point of this plugin.
