Issue with Shield Security plugin

  • Hi, do you know of any compatibility issues with the Shield plugin?

    Every time I try to create a new list I seem to trip something and get blocked by the security

    Hi there,

    We’re not aware of any compatibility issues w/ the mentioned plugin.

    Perhaps it’s being overzealous. Does it have any functionality to exempt plugins(whitelist)? So you could add WPSP on its whitelist.

    yes it does have a whitelist for parameters, not sure what I would put in though. Looking at the audit log this was the trigger:

    `Auto Black List offenses counter was incremented from 1 to 2.
    Firewall Trigger: WordPress Terms.
    Page parameter failed firewall check.
    The offending parameter was “post_type” with a value of “wp_show_posts”.
    Firewall Block Response: Visitor connection was killed with wp_die() and a message.

    I think I can change this setting but not sure I want to and would prefer to use the whitelist parameters. Could you tell me what to use?

    I’m not exactly sure how that security plugin works but if it can whitelist all functionalities from the post type wp_show_posts then try that.

    WPSP list’s settings are saved within the post type wp_show_posts and are then fetched from there by the plugin.
