• I am currently unable to save changes to any forms. This began after I migrated the site in question to the client’s server, but it also could have been related to a recent update—I haven’t checked the interface since creating the form a few months ago.

When I try to save a form, I get the following message:

Custom Contact Forms is experiencing issues.
There is an issue with synchronizing data. Please try deactivating all other plugins and activating the TwentyFifteen theme. If this fixes the problem, you have a plugin or theme conflict. If it does not, please post in the support forums or Github.

I have not deactivated all my plugins and switched to TwentyFifteen (to do so would not be viable at this point), but I highly doubt that a theme or plugin conflict is the cause, since I have been running an identical theme/plugin setup for months on my own server with no issues. To rule out an issue with the form itself, I deleted it and attempted to build a new one from scratch, only to find that I could only save that form once before the error came back. I also deleted and reinstalled the plugin, to no avail.

Meanwhile, on my test server, everything is working exactly as it should—except for one time when the Manage Form screen threw a malformed popup that read “Custom Contact Forms is experiencing issues” and could not be closed, everything else can be edited and saved as normal.

What’s the deal here? Is there some buried data from the migration that’s throwing a wrench in the works? Or is this related to the plugin itself? Most importantly, how can I fix it, because it is quite literally the only thing left to finish before we take the site live?

  • Sorry but most of this is above my head! But could you please explain why plugin was working OK but is now causing this issue?

We have just got the same problem, the plugin screams the error whenever attempting to edit any page.

Most standard Apache2.2 installs should work unless there is a specific mod-sec rule. Has CCF changed its methods in the last update?

Is it not possible to have any other permalink set than postname? Sure that hasnt been the case before? Could it be that people are coming into contact with apache 2.4 and need to change virtual host conf files?

Disabling plugins and theme changes makes no difference to the outcome for us.

    so what changed?

This feels like a code change that produced this problem

Why does it popup when open a new post

    This so wrong

I feel you need to provide a fallback for server that don’t support this

6.4.10 has a fallback now. PUT and DELETE are not required.

Sorry to say the error message remains the same.

    Disabled other plugins,
    Updated CCF
Still cannot edit a form although a new one can still be created.

What JavaScript error are you getting?

    Any JavaScript errors?

I am not sure what you mean by JavaScript errors.

Looks like you nailed it, Taylor!

    – I was able to edit the form and save the changes successfully.
    – Emailed successfully.

Thank you for all your work.
    I love your form.
and the American template for phome also works

So I just installed a fresh version of WordPress on my local apache server (localhost). The very first thing I did was select

    Settings -> Permalink = Postname

as I have seen that mentioned as required.

I then installed this Plugin. V6.4.11

    Forms -> New Form

    Added a bunch of fields.

    Pressed “Save Form”

    And this error “–error message—

Pops Up. It looks like the problem has been fixed for jjazzbel but what was the fix?? This is a vanilla install. No other plugins and no content and no themese except twenty fifteen.

But the form seems to save and i can re-edit it.

Apache is generating lots of messages in the error log when i press “Save Form”

That worked for us. We needed to enable/disable then make a save to the form before it would stop producing the error.

All working well, thanks for the quick response and fallback option. Hope that doesnt make the code too much more of a pain to manage.

Thanks for your help, much appreciated.

NB Small donation made, if everyone does their bit, be it code, test or donate it all gets a bit better.

Update: My Apache is 2.4.10 if that makes a difference

Storntium, this error is the problem:

[Thu Mar 05 16:57:50.786223 2015] [:error] [pid 6977:tid 140268405720832] [client ::1:52965] PHP Deprecated: Automatically populating $HTTP_RAW_POST_DATA is deprecated and will be removed in a future version. Can you correct your php.ini file as instructed?

    Hi Taylor,

That was indeed the problem. Thanks for the advice.
