Issue with synchronizing data
-
I am currently unable to save changes to any forms. This began after I migrated the site in question to the client’s server, but it also could have been related to a recent update—I haven’t checked the interface since creating the form a few months ago.
When I try to save a form, I get the following message:
Custom Contact Forms is experiencing issues.
There is an issue with synchronizing data. Please try deactivating all other plugins and activating the TwentyFifteen theme. If this fixes the problem, you have a plugin or theme conflict. If it does not, please post in the support forums or Github.I have not deactivated all my plugins and switched to TwentyFifteen (to do so would not be viable at this point), but I highly doubt that a theme or plugin conflict is the cause, since I have been running an identical theme/plugin setup for months on my own server with no issues. To rule out an issue with the form itself, I deleted it and attempted to build a new one from scratch, only to find that I could only save that form once before the error came back. I also deleted and reinstalled the plugin, to no avail.
Meanwhile, on my test server, everything is working exactly as it should—except for one time when the Manage Form screen threw a malformed popup that read “Custom Contact Forms is experiencing issues” and could not be closed, everything else can be edited and saved as normal.
What’s the deal here? Is there some buried data from the migration that’s throwing a wrench in the works? Or is this related to the plugin itself? Most importantly, how can I fix it, because it is quite literally the only thing left to finish before we take the site live?
