hello – first off – great plugin – one of the better testimonial ones.

i do however have an interesting problem. i have added the cycle shortcode on a footer widget and on all pages it shows perfectly.

but – on the actual testimonials page it all out of whack.
in the content area i have requested [wpmtst-all] but it is cycling the testimonials – and in the footer it is showing the excerpts but not cycling them.

please have a look at https://www.reymondcommunications.com.au/testimonials/

you will notice on all other pages the widget is fine.

what do you think could be causing this?

    thank you.

Thanks for pointing this out. I’m sorry for the trouble.

I built the cycle shortcode quickly without testing all the various combinations. It was designed to be the only Strong shortcode on a page. So the cycle script works on the first Strong section it finds, in this case the [wpmtst-all], and stops looking for others.

This will be solved in version 2.0 with the use of independent display components that will play nice together, each with their own settings. But that’s a few months off.

So the solution here is to use a Strong widget in your footer instead. If necessary, I recommend the Widgets on Pages plugin.

    hi Chris,

    thanks for you response.

ive got it working for now by using the strong widget instead.

however I used the cycle shortcode in the footer so that I could use the excerpt feature – does that mean I cannot use it with this version?

    cheers.

    Unfortunately, that is correct.

I see you went with Easy Testimonials. Sorry to see you go but I understand.

hi Chris – sorry but i really needed to use the excerpt feature.

i still prefer your cleaner plugin however. once this issue is resolved i will certainly give it another go.

    thanks.
