    Hi,

I’ve set a fallback image for posts/pages in the Yoast SEO settings.

The issue I’m encountering is: When I do not define any featured image in the page, Yoast schema graph is picking up a random image from the media library for the thumbnailUrl.
Is there a way to define fallback thumbnailUrl if no any featured image is defined in the page?

    Thanks in advance!

@botnop If there’s no featured image for your page we would recommend to set the default by navigating to Yoast SEO > Settings > General > Site representation and replace the image with the Organization logo with a new one.

    Hi,

    Thank you for your response.

But I had already done that (uploaded the image).
I see a error message below the image section though.
    “Failed to retrieve media.”

Just checked, the media file I’ve selected there exists in the media library.

    Thanks!

Thanks for the helpful screenshot. Since you are sure the media still exists in the library, please try these steps:

    1. Install & activate the Yoast Test Helper plugin
    2. Go to Tools > Yoast Test
    3. Locate the Yoast SEO section and click on the ‘Reset indexables tables & migrations‘, ‘Reset Prominent words calculation‘, and ‘Reset Internal link counter‘ buttons. After each click, the page will reload to confirm that the specific reset was successful.
    4. Go to SEO > Tools, and under SEO data, click the “Start SEO data optimization” button to allow Yoast to rescan your content.

Please let us know if the reported issue remains after resetting the optimized data.
