I’m experiencing an issue with the translations of custom tabs in your WooCommerce product tab plugin. Previously, the tabs were functioning correctly on both the original and translated product pages. However, they no longer appear on the translated pages (German and English in my case).

Here are the details of the issue:

When I attempt to add a translation for a custom tab and save it, it says that no translation exists.
The custom tab still displays correctly on the original (default language) product page.
The problem seems to have started recently; everything was working fine before.

Could you please help in identifying the cause of this issue and suggest a solution? Let me know if you need additional information.

    Hi @webstijl ,

    Thank you for the comment.

I checked your website and it looks like you’re using WPML. Given the complexity of WPML, WPML’s support team have kindly agreed to support Barn2’s customers in using it to translate our plugins. That’s because they are much more familiar with WPML than us and can make sure you have configured it correctly. If they discover that it’s a compatibility issue rather than a setup issue, then they will liaise with our developers directly to find a solution.

As a result, please could you reach out to WPML Support and they will be happy to assist.

In addition, I recommend checking that you have correctly followed all the steps in our WPML setup guide: https://barn2.com/kb/wpml/

If you have other questions, please let me know.

I understand your recommendation to reach out to WPML Support. However, I have already performed some troubleshooting on my end, which suggests the issue lies within the latest update of your plugin.

I restored the backup of the plugins and verified that everything was working as expected. After updating only your plugin to the latest version, the custom tabs stopped working on the translated pages. This strongly indicates that the issue originates from changes made in the latest version of your plugin, rather than a compatibility issue with WPML.

I would appreciate any updates on this, as it was functioning perfectly before the update.

    Hi?@webstijl?,

    Thank you for the update.

I’d like to try something regarding the issue. Please do a full backup of your website before proceeding –

    1. Please download a copy of the plugin from www.ads-software.com to your computer.
    2. Then please open it using your preferred zip program.
    3. Then please remove or rename this file – https://share.zight.com/L1u2kXWP.
    4. Then please save it.
    5. Please delete the plugin installed in your WordPress backend.
    6. Then please upload and install the new copy on your computer onto the website

Let me know how it goes and if you have questions.

    Hi Barn2,

I followed the instructions you provided, but unfortunately, the issue persists even after updating the plugin.

Since this is a live website with active customer traffic, I had to revert to the previous version of your plugin.

Are there any other solutions or steps I could try to resolve this issue?

    Hi webstijl,

Thank you for getting in touch.

As an alternative, you can rename or delete the file (https://share.zight.com/L1u2kXWP) when the plugin is already uploaded. You can browse through your server’s file navigation system or use an FTP program to look for the file. If you are not familiar with this, you can contact your website administrator or web hosting company.

After renaming or deleting the file, clear your website and server cache.

We are still looking into the issue. We’ll let you know when we have more information. Let me know how it goes and if you have other questions. – Carl

    Hi webstijl,

    Thank you for the follow-up.

Can I confirm if you’ve also tried the alternative I’ve mentioned? Please try to edit or delete the file after uploading the plugin instead of using the patched copy I sent.

If that does not work, please contact WPML for assistance. They should be able to help you. If it does turn out to be a compatibility issue between WPML and our plugin, they will contact us directly if needed.

If you have other questions, please let me know. – Carl

    Hi Barn2,

Thank you for your suggestion. I have tried the method you recommended, but unfortunately, it didn’t resolve the issue. Based on my testing, the problem seems to occur only after updating your plugin, so I’m not entirely convinced that WPML is the cause.

I will reach out to WPML again to double-check, but I would appreciate it if you could also continue investigating on your end. Finding a solution together is important to me, as I’d prefer to keep using your plugin.
