Issue with Variations

The variations on my store changed from ex. size Large, to the title of the product with the Size on it, not sure why this happened.

Checking this product, I can confirm your issue here:

Can you please share if there were any updates or changes made on your site prior to this issue? Like, plugin installation and/or update, theme update, etc?

Meanwhile, for us to investigate this further, can you please try to switch to the default Storefront theme and only WooCommerce plugin is enabled and see if this works?

If so, then this kind of problem is usually caused by your theme or a third-party plugin present on your site. We can run a conflict test to verify this. I’d recommend cloning your site to a staging environment and performing the tests described on this guide without modifying your live site or impacting customers. Many hosts provide staging facilities, so it’s worth checking in with them. It’s also possible to do it using the free WP Staging plugin.

If this was caused by a third-party plugin present on your site, it would be best to reach out to the developers for further assistance here.

If this did not resolve the issue, please share your System Status Report, that will help us further troubleshoot.

You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select Get system report and then Copy for support. Once you’ve done that, you can paste it into your reply here.

I don’t have any fatal error logs.

Not sure what has been updated recently, I think it was after one of the WC updates earlier last week.

Switching the theme does not do anything as the variation were update at the product level.

I would like to confirm since I am not seeing anything suspicious on your SSR above. Hence, I am guessing that this issue is being caused by your theme or a third-party plugin present on your site.

Yeah I tried, and nothing happened.

The only plugin that I can think can make this kind of overwrite is the “WooCommerce Square” plugin

Was this product imported from Square? If so, then please check the name of the variations from Square’s side.

Also, can you please attach a couple of screenshots of your square’s product sync settings?

The products are created in WC first and then synced with square.

To clarify, can you please temporarily disable the plugin Variation Swatches for WooCommerce: by Emran Ahmed – 2.0.20? Can you confirm if the issue persists after that?

I don’t see any immediate change.

When WooCommerce is designated as the sync setting, the Square product catalog will be overwritten with data from WooCommerce. Therefore, I’m not sure how Square could be the culprit here.

To troubleshoot this issue, I recommend disabling all plugins except for WooCommerce and Square one more time while activating the Storefront theme. Then, create a new variation product with new attributes and terms.

If you can confirm that the names of the new variations are also being overridden, then please open a ticket about this from WooCommerce.com > MY profile > Support so that we can investigate the issue further.

Yeah I am not sure either. This happened one before and we had to update all the variations manually.
