Yes, The slug can be edited, but it harder to edit it, as it as – between words.

I would recommend doing something like “copy as”
User type the name of the duplicated product and then push the button.
Now the slug will fit with new product name.

Thank you for the suggestion. Here is what you can do now:

• After you duplicate the product, type in the new product name in the edit slug section.
• Click ‘OK’.
• Your product will then have a new slug created from the name you typed in.
