Once I did the plugin update I no longer see the image in my image list when uploading an image (it uploads fine but the image is just a gray generic folder image NOT the actual image) AND also the image can no longer be edited in WordPress like just prior to the update.

    What gives?

  • @skygazer, Can you disable “Automatically Smush images on Upload”, try uploading a new image and see if the issue still persists.

If it does, can you possibly check the debug log and see if there is any error and post it over here.

    Cheers

I tried your suggestion and did not fix the issue.

As for checking the debug log, I’m not sure how to do that…

@skygazer, Can you disable the plugin “WP Smush” , and if the issue still persists, then probably it’s something else and not the Smush that’s causing the issue.

Yes, that was a good suggestion. The image and edit image works fine and displays fine in the image list once smush is deactivated.

So I can’t use it anymore?

How can it be “something else” causing the issue if it’s only after your update that it stopped working. I didn’t change, add, modify, delete or update anything else??

@skygazer, I’d need your help to debug it further.

Can you possibly contact us via: https://premium.wpmudev.org/contact

Select “I’ve a different question” from dropdown and mention “Attn. Umesh Kumar” as subject.

Mention the link to this thread in the message, and I’ll take it further from there.

    Done!

    Thanks.

@skygazer, Can you possibly check your email and reply to it.

    Cheers

Thank you for using Smush. I am marking this topic resolved because it was moved to email support. If you have any further questions we can reopen the thread or you can start a new support ticket. Thanks again!
