• I’m currently in the process of rebuilding my website, meaning I’m exporting the users, posts and images to a new site. I was able to get the users and posts, however I’m running into a wall with the media. I have full access to the ftp and db so I can try any examples but I want to keep the structure identical to the original.

Obviously since you can simply import the media via FTP, not sure what to do. Everything I’ve seen is saying I won’t be able to unless I play with the database and the export times out on the old server as the media library is 4GB.

    Any recommendations here?

There are two ways to do this. If the media is properly attached to posts or pages, WordPress’s export/import will bring the files over and keep them in the Media Library.

Alternatively, upload the media via SFTP or FTP. This won’t create the necessary database entries though, so you won’t see the files in the Media library, but you can use this plugin to take care of that: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/add-from-server/

The issue I have is my site is really large, 15GB large. So any attempts to migrate have failed.

Try via SFTP or FTP, and use the Add from Server plugin on each individual year (maybe even each individual month) rather than the entire uploads directory.
