• Hi guys!

Ok I am going a little crazy here.

I had someone from elance (elance at the time) convert and edit everything to wordpress since I know little about wordpress.

The password he had was in elance messages and since it changed its name and I converted to freelancer instead of someone who gets hired a year ago I think it got rid of my messages.

So I tried to reset it using all 3 methods here:
    https://support.hostgator.com/articles/how-to-reset-wordpress-password

unfortunately the first 2 dont work as in wordpress barely shows in my cpanel in any of those instructions.

Now the third one where I go into my databases kind of worked, I see 5 wordpress databases (some are from other sites on the server) and changed every database out of the wordpress 5 admins passwords to the same thing and it STILL wont let me login. I am not sure what I am doing wrong but my boss is pretty pissed and im basically buying time at this point till I can find the answer. I knew osmething was fishy when I loaded up the pages when I could login and everything is blank, like its not a normal install or something making it so I use to ask them to have to edit it.

Anyone able to lend some advice or help? It would be amazingly appreciated!

    Thanks for your time!

  • So sorry you are experiencing this issue.

If you were able to get past the white screen, I have a couple of questions.

Are you using /wp-admin on the end of the url?

If so, Lost Password should work if you are the admin. Lost password sends an email to the email address associated with the admin.

Are you the Admin or is the person from Elance the Admin? In other words, is your email address is associated with this Admin account?

Check the email address for the admins. Change it to your email address. Then try Lost Password.
