Issues migrating to new domain + HTTPS [Solved]

    G’day!

    In case anyone else has the same problem, I’d like to post this on the support forums.

    Recently I migrated my site (https://saveditservices.com) from https://wordpress.saveditservices.com, and had a complete nightmare of a time trying to figure out why my SSL cert wasn’t completely working.
    I noticed in the final pagecode that the ‘favicon’, slider images, and all the image references within the Guardian theme were showing the old “https://wordpress..” address rather than the new “https://saved…” one. I couldn’t fix it within the wp-admin whatsoever, so I had to manually go in to the SQL database and change the text within the field “guardian_options”.

    This fixed it, and took me about six to seven hours to figure out what was causing it and where to go to fix it.

    P.S. Devs, please change the host references in your img tags so that they’re not using permalinks, as it’s a nightmare to migrate them.

    Update: A few minutes later, this has borked my Home page and it was restored to default settings.
    Luckily I do backups before any major changes!

    Update2: I figured out how the field “guardian_options” works: it’s JSON, and each string is preceded by a string-length indicator. If you change the text, you have to change the string length field.
