Issues or conflicts with staging sites?

Hello. I am about to redesign and rebuild a WP website for one of your clients. Before starting, I wanted to check with you about whether an identical copy of the WP website (a “staging” site) would in any way interfere with, or cause issues for, my/your client’s existing feed.

Here is what I plan to do:
1. Make a full copy of the existing website, https://www.[podcastsite].com. The “staging” site would be dev.[podcastsite].com, for example.
2. Redesign and update the site on dev.[podcastsite].com, including the posts template and styling of podcast episode posts.
3. Copy the staging site back over the current/original/live site on https://www.[podcastsite].com to make the new design public.

Would this process cause any issues?

Could not find anything in your documentation about this particular scenario. I want to be certain that I avoid any steps that may cause issues for her feed. Please let me know, thanks!
