I just ran my first scan using Media Cleaner and upon completion it gives me the following message:

There are 3115 issues with your files, accounting for 1433.47 MB. Your trash contains 4760.28 MB.

    And the counts are as follows: Issues(3115) | Ignored(0) | Trash(3172)

I was not expecting there to be anything in the trash at this point of the process and am wondering why it showed up this way? Many of the items in Issues are already in Trash, and my site appears to be functioning no problem, but if I take one of the items that I know is being used on the site, and it also appears in both Issues and Trash and I move the Issues entry to Trash it breaks. So, I am just unclear as to why they are showing up in both Issues and Trash?

Hope this makes sense. Thanks for the help!

    Hi @brandomb,

It’s completely abnormal to have something accounted in the Trash after your first scan. The plugin doesn’t look for anything in your Trash (if you have one already) so I really don’t know what happened in your case, it sounds like a mystery.

Do you have actually trashed files before with Media Cleaner? Maybe you installed it before, disabled it, and re-installed it more recently?

I have never installed it before, this is the first time that I have attempted image cleanup like this. And like I said, the files are showing up in both the issues tab and the trash tab. As you can see they are not exactly the same since the numbers are a little different but most of them are the same. So what should I do now?

    Hi @brandomb,

I am not so sure, I don’t even know how to reproduce your issues, and… I am afraid to say that, but it could be caused by another plugin, or maybe you made a mistake as well, I mean, really – everything is possible. I have never faced your situation and I don’t even see how it can happen with the plugin.

What happens if you empty the trash? Then you could delete entries, maybe… but I am making that, even though the situation makes no sense to me. I am just trying to find a way to get you unblocked. You could also Reset the Cleaner DB and try everything all over again.

Jordy, thanks for the advice. I tried emptying the trash and that broke my site so I had to restore from a backup to get everything back to normal. I then chose the option to delete the Media Cleaner DB and rescan and that seemed to resolve the issue. Now I have Issues(3115) | Ignored(0) | Trash(0)

    Thank you!
