Issues with emails when bulk editing orders

Hi there — we have this strange issue.
We have created a custom order status “X”. We set “X” to be the Default Order Status.
It all looks to work fine, until we try to bulk edit orders in the WooCommerce orders list. We try to change the status from “X” to “Processing” using bulk edit, and when we do this, we don’t receive the “Processing” email.
If we do this when editing a single order, the “Processing” email is received.This seems to be the case when changing from “X” to any other order status (On Hold, Completed, etc) using the bulk edit in WooCommerce — no emails are received.
In other hand, if we use bulk edit to change from, say, “Processing” to “X”, then we do receive the “X” email. But the other way around isn’t working.
We already tried disabling all other plugins and used a default WP theme, but no joy.
