The site is https://www.freckledfrog.co.uk and I’ve had plenty of issues with SSL certificates in setting it up, but those seem to be resolved now.

However, I’m having trouble with Firefox and IE8. In Firefox, when you get to the checkout page, the images all get stripped out. In IE8, well, the website just won’t load.

Any tips for what I need to do to get these issues sorted would be massively appreciated!

  • I got a hint.

You are missing some images because of the certificate.
If I inspect your website I see that your header image is located here: https://freckledfrog.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/cropped-webbannerresized3.png

If I manually go to this page it gives a certificated error.
So I think you could try first:
    – add the website link ( I provided above ) to the trusted website in Internet Explorer and verify if it works.
    – Verify your https certificate and see for which domains it is made.

Ps. I think I found you exact problem.
Your certificate is for https://www.freckledfrog.co.uk and your image in the checkout section goes to freckledfrog.co.uk which is missing www. in it. Just change this and it should work.

Thanks, that makes sense. Do you know where I can change the url of the image?

If you go to the page on which you inserted the image you could just add the www. in front of the URL. If it is in a theme should go modifying you theme. There is probably a top image.

First I would look in the page “checkout” as if you browse to other pages the url changes ( https / http ). On the checkout / cart page there will probably a link to the url.

Else it could be possible to verify your side bars ( top bar )

Brilliant, I’ve sorted the issue with the images in Firefox, thank you for that.

What can I do to get the site loading ok in IE8?

Great to hear you solved it.
Could you please tell me where you found it? was it in the place as I told and did you test it with succes?

You should identify the code used on the webpage. This has nothing to do with WordPress. It could be that some codes are not supported in IE8. You should also ask yourself if you want to support IE8 ( how many people will use this nowadays). You will probably tell me that you want IE8 support as Windows XP don’t support newer versions… well ur correct but… Microsoft also tell us that they will stop supporting Windows XP in April 2014. So people must buy Windows vista/7/8 which support IE9 and comes default with IE9. Conclusion, I wouldn’t invest my time in it.

yeah, it was a case of sorting out the www bit, which I managed by reuploading the background and the header images.

Ok thanks I’ll have a quick look at IE8 to see what the problem is, but like you say it’s not a massive problem if I don’t fix it.

Thank you for all your help
