    Hi,

I created two new websites that replaced the old ones. The old ones were installed via Installatron and both have active automatic backup schedules. I created the new ones on a different location and then I migrated the new websites to the right domains. Now Installatron is sending errors about not being able to login with the known credentials. When I check the wp-config files I still see the credentials of the old websites and I don’t understand how this can happen? Isn’t the wp-config part of a WP installation and should’t it have been replaced by the new website?

    How can I fix this?

    Best regards,
    Ester

No, wp-config.php is not going to be replaced.
When you import a website, you will replace its data in the database and all files under wp-content.
WordPress core files in the root, wp-includes and wp-admin will not be replaced.

    Hi Yani,

Ok… maybe a very silly question, but does that mean that the name and password to the databases remain the same as well? Are only the contents of the databases replaced, but not the credentials?

Yes, the plugin won’t change the database username and password. These are defined in wp-config.php file.
