Issues with internal gallery and image links

This issue is occurring on a page that has password protection due to the pictures being of daycare activities. Have requested permission to share here but not yet received. So despite full page links below at present I can’t give you access to rendered pages so am providing lots of details.

Issue is thumbnails inside most galleries have what look like correct links but they deliver you back to album page at which point the gallery links in the album page are broken as well.

Slideshow links function fine on both.

Note that while I reference first thumbs, all thumbs in gallery have same issues.

On Album page Gallery first thumb links to https://www.sistersofmountcarmel.org/cub-corner-gallery/nggallery/cub-corner/cub-corner-mardi-gras-2016

In Gallery Thumb links to https://www.sistersofmountcarmel.org/wp-content/gallery/cub-corner-mardi-gras-2016/cub.corner.signpicframe.jpg

Clicking that thumb lands you at https://www.sistersofmountcarmel.org/cub-corner-gallery/nggallery/image/1408 which re-renders ALBUM

AND now the thumb for Album leads to https://www.sistersofmountcarmel.org/cub-corner-gallery/nggallery/pid–1408/cub-corner/cub-corner-mardi-gras-2016

Note pid in path has double dash which if removed will render Gallery.

Now either way you load the gallery (initial correct gallery link or by fixing double dash above) the first thumb links to
https://www.sistersofmountcarmel.org/wp-content/gallery/cub-corner/cubcorner_mt-carmel_finished-illus_006b_lores.jpg

BUT delivers you to the parent album page with a url of https://www.sistersofmountcarmel.org/cub-corner-gallery/nggallery/image/66

This is the only gallery of 33 or so that is working correctly – eg click a thumb and see the full size image with prev/next links.
