    Hi,
I have a multi-language website and i have an issue with a specific string translation about German language. The main language is English and the other language is Italian, German and French. I have no problem with Italian and French translation (creating .PO files from .POT file) but when i select German language on my site the string “Note:
This product is a free gift.” (that in reality are 2 strings in .POT file) is not translated even if in giftable-for-woocommerce-de_DE.PO file still present in “languages” folder the string is translated with “Dieses Produkt ist ein Geschenk.”
Have you any solution about that? Thanks

If you are using latest WPML it will ask you for “Speed optimization” , and then it will copy everything from PO/MO files to “strings”, I think that happens alot for people.

You can edit strings easy way – via:
WPML > String Translation and search for “This product is a free gift.” – please check “Use my translation” and Save.

Finally i found the solution. Copying both .po and .mo “giftable-for-woocommerce-de_DE” files from wp-content\plugins\giftable-for-woocommerce\languages and pasting in wp-content\languages\plugins folder (overwriting the existing files). The reason is that the 2 de_DE.po files are not perfectly equal to each other. The one in wp-content\languages\plugins folder misses some registered string to translate.
    I’m using Polylang.
I hope to be useful also to other people.
    Bye
