After updating to the most recent version some of my site elements are not working.
Blogs are not showing up, mobile navigation burger menus aren’t working and other small (apparently js) related issues are occurring. I am using Divi which is up to date on all sites and wordpress is up to date also.
Disabling the plugin fixes the issues but is obviously not ideal. Any help you could offer would be much appreciated.

The issue also affects display of elements in internet explorer/edge. I have had to disable the plugin on a number of sites, but I created a staged copy here with the plugin enabled in case you need to look at the error in more detail https://dev.technovore.co.uk/error/

You can see that it is not allowing a number of elements to load.

    Thanks

I have a similar problem with the plugin …

After latest update and switching to automatic data-blockingmode, the header-images are not showing – neither before my active cookie-consent, nor after … Well, after my active consent I do get to see the header-image on the frontpage, but when clicking on other pages (showing no images) and returning to the frontpage then the header-image is also missing there.

The theme PORTO was used … I had to deactivate the Cookiebot-plugin for all images to show again. … Now awaiting a plugin-update to fix the problem.

    Hi @technovore and @anette777

    Thanks for reaching out!

This is actually not a bug. The latest release will block any tags that track the visitor, if the visitor has not given consent for that kind of tracking. This enables you to become fully compliant with the GDPR and ePR.

This may mess up your site, if the images you use are trackers in disguise. In this case we advise that you use placeholders, as described in our “how to show and hide content based on the visitors consent” guide.

If you would like to use Cookiebot as it was before this release, you can select “Manual” in the Cookie-blocking mode setting. See following image: https://prntscr.com/p73s77.

As always with new features, it is best to try them out in a development environment, before using them in production. Same goes for the automatic cookie control.

Hi, So I scanned my site again for trackers and cookies and only found the 3 necessary ones and 3 statistics ones (Matomo, not google). None of the images that are blocked are trackers, neither, as far as I can see are the animations or videos that are being blocked and the plugin also causes issues with the mobile menu not working. So, are you saying that Cookiebot is not picking up the tracking elements but the plugin is blocking them, or are you saying that something else is going on?
Why is it working on some browsers and situations and not in others? Presumably the cookie would be present for all browsers?
Thanks for getting back to me.

Have there been any updates or changes regarding these issues? Thanks

I have been keeping up with the replies on the other support requests and I wondered if there has been an update to the situation at all? Turning off the automatic blocking doesn’t really seem to be a solution as this is a required feature of the law and more or less the main purpose of the plugin from my point of view. I may have to start looking for an alternate solution sadly, which is a shame because it was a great plugin.

    Hi @technovore,

Automatic blocking is a ground-breaking feature and Cookiebot is the only Consent Management Platform that currently supports it, so even if you switch to something else, you won’t get automatic blocking.

We are working on fixing the bugs in automatic blocking. Please have patience.

Until then, we suggest you use manual blocking, which you can find in the Settings page. Manual blocking was the only option until 2 weeks ago, and should work very well.

    Sorry for any inconvenience.
