Issues with WordPress 4.5
-
WordPress 4.5 appeared to have a few issues. The team is working hard to get them resolved as soon as possible.
The fixes are getting gathered on GitHub v.3.4.6.5 branch, which will soon be released.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this problem causes.

Maybe it helps, I see the following message when viewing custom taxonomies
Warning: call_user_func_array() expects parameter 1 to be a valid callback, function 'qtrans_modifyTermFormFor' not found or invalid function name in /home/otc/domains/otc.preview.websight.nl/public_html/wp-includes/plugin.php on line 503
@jeroenguyt: your problem is unrelated to this thread. Function ‘qtrans_modifyTermFormFor’ never existed in qtx, it is from old qt and is not in use anymore. You must use some old plugins or theme, which were customized to accommodate old qt imperfections. Try reading Migration Guide Please, do not write on this thread anymore to keep it clean for WP 4.5 issues only. Use qTranslate-X Support Forum for further help if needed.
@sb0k, and all, we cannot reproduce. We need more information on the specifics of your cases. Please, follow initial troubleshooting steps as described in https://qtranslatexteam.wordpress.com/troubleshooting/ and report via https://qtranslatexteam.wordpress.com/contact-us/ so that we can continue on case by case basis.
Hi John,
Even after 3.4.6.5 update the problem still remains.
If you want to check or need more information, please message me in PVT.
I′ll be glad to assist you.
Note: my problem is not on menu, but when updating any page… error messages are shown, but the update occurs.Regards
@a.Gaeta: it is most likely due to interaction with other plugin or theme. Could you turn them off one by one and switching to a standard theme like twenty sixteen, to figure out which one is in a conflict? Then I would have a chance to probably reproduce. Also, sorry for my ignorance, what is PVT?
Thanks a lot.
For others: Gaeta’s case is described on the thread: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/error-on-line-14-after-upgrading-wordpress-to-45-when-updating-any-page
I’ve tried disabling all the other q-translate related plugins, still not saving the translations of that particular menu.
Here’s a screenshot of my qTranslate related plugins:

@john Clause – I also deleted the old plugin and replaced with the 3.4.6.5 version and it seems that the main error is solved. In fact, now I can change the translation of each voice of the menu and when saved it works well.
But, when I add a page to the menu, the added voice does not takes the original translated title, just the one selected.
To reproduce: pick a page (i.e. “[:en]Home[:zh]主页[:]”), when the menu language is in english, add it to the menu, try to switch to cinese lang. You should see “Home” in the translated text, instead of 主页.Hi John,
Yes, it could be due a plugin issue. I′ll try and post a reply again. PVT is private message/direct message to me, sorry.
Hi John,
It works. Probably any plugin conflicting with qtranslatex. After disabling all plugins and re-enabling, it works fine.
Because similar problems at other websites, I imagine that could be iThemes or Wordfence plugin.
It is working fine now. Thanks!
I did some more testing. I disabled all plugins and activated the twentyfifteen theme. Tried translating the menu again and it still doesn’t save the translations. It just saves whatever the active language is at the time when I press the save button. I’m testing on my localhost, otherwise I’d be glad to provide you access.
Wonder if this will affect our issues: WP Tavern: WordPress 4.5.1 Expected Early Next Week
@a.Gaeta: I am glad it worked for you eventually. We have just discovered and fixed an imperfection in the activation code. Hopefully it will update configuration smoother now.
I am still curios about “private message/direct message” – how to send it? Is there a way without knowing an e-mail? It is not that I need to contact you now, but I’d love to learn how to do it within WP for the future if there is a way?
@reddo: could you please, try to download it again, there has been a few updates: https://github.com/qTranslate-Team/qtranslate-x/archive/v3.4.6.5.zip
BTW, as a side note, I never knew about “qTranslate Menu Item” and you should not need it with qtx, since qtx has its own build-in menu item for language switching. Other note: when I said “find conflicting plugin”, I meant all plugins, not only qtx related.
As a simple test, you may try it first on a fresh copy of WP with a default standard theme only, then add your other plugins one by one.
Hi,
had issue to translate category due new admin page term.php.
Couldn’t translate categories.
My quickfix is available at https://pastebin.com/4XS9KCxvChange works only if configuration is update at wp-admin/options-general.php?page=qtranslate-x
Just click Save changesAs I said, I’ve tried deactivating all plugins and reverting back to a default theme, it still didn’t save.
The weird thing is that it’s only happening on this one multi-level menu, set as this site’s primary menu. I’ve tried other menus and even created a new menu and they all acted ok. This might be and edge case and I might get around to re-creating the entire menu, but it’s a big one, it’s got 30-ish items.
OFF TOPIC: I actually had to rewrite some of the “qTranslate Menu Item” plugin, it used deprecated functions (which i fixed by looking at the source of qtx), but the one qtx offers is different, yours has a menu item with the actual languages being sub-items, this one add only one item to the menu and it’s switching it based on what language is actually active, not showing the active language.
