I have the WP working. When a visitor tries to register he says that he will receive the confirmation email but nothing at all.

The email is well configured (with WP Mail SMTP)
The test email is sent (with WPForms) if I have a contact form I receive the message but if someone tries to register they DO NOT receive the email (not even in spam).

From WP I can activate your account and resend the mail BUT IT DOESN’T DO IT ??

My hosting is Byethost, I have the updated WP and I have a gMail account set up as email (it’s all free).

  • Hello, herchi, & welcome.

Have you checked your ‘settings > General’ option to see if WordPress is indeed configured to allow registrations?

If yes, then please tell us what plugins you’re running that may be conflicting w/that.

yes, I sure I allowed registrations (if I set disallows the user couldn’t see the register’s form.

Maybe I must to depure the register action ??

@herchi, I suspect the problematic plugin here is “SQ AJAX Login, Register, Lost Pass & Facebook Login”. Please try deactivating it & see if the problem resolves.

You’re doing excellent, & I’m more than glad to be of service if I can, but I did want you to know that there is a Spanish language version of these forums at:

    Support Forums

if it’s of interest, particularly for future reference. Some folks really like the feature, other folks say there are fewer people around on that forum & they get more help on the English language one because of that. But I almost always let folks know it exists just in case they’d feel more comfortable using their native tongue.

As I said, I’m more than willing to help you, but my Spanish is abysmal, so it’ll have to be in English. I understand far more Spanish than I speak. Certainly your English is better than my Spanish.

ok in English will be, hehehe. I tried in Spanish but… https://es.www.ads-software.com/support/topic/no-manda-emails-de-registro-pero-si-email-de-pruebas-y-formulario-de-contacto/#new-topic-0

I desactivated the “SQ Ajax Login…” and the problem persists.

I reinstalled WordPress in WAMP and register doesn’t send the confirmation email (without plugins). in the real site setting “WP Mail SMTP” I can to send contact form by email but I think the register works like a new WordPress in localhost: default means no send confirmation email.

if you give me your telegram I could create an admin user in my site (nobody inside) and you could touch it.

    Thank you.

@herchi, is this a localhost install?

    Thread Starter herchi

    (@herchi)

no, my host is byethost but I try to reinstall in localhost WP and register a new user but I can’t (like byethost)

Herchi, I’m not certain, but I’m not even sure registration even works on a localhost install, as it makes little sense, & is probably actually dangerous from a security vantagepoint , to do so. Having thus said, I believe wp-mail-smtp generates logs. If you can find some error entries, these would be enlightening.

https://youtu.be/qai8t0jXgqM I upload a video with the problem. The second is in English (poor English) hehe.

In the logs are the test emails and simple form but no confirmation register ??

Javier, that was a good video! & my Spanish is probly as good as your English & vice versa. My opinion is that we’re both trying very hard to communicate w/each other, so we shouldn’t apologize if difficulties arise doing so, because so many just give up trying & we’re not doing that.

Here’s what I’d like you to do, please, Sir. I’d like you to deactivate all plugins except wp mail smtp. Then let’s see what happens w/the registration form, ok?

    Thread Starter herchi

    (@herchi)

I know language is a problem hehehe, but in Spain no help appears ??

I cant register when all plugins are disabled: https://sugarbabyspain.ga/register/
The ‘send button’ is disabled. I have a bakcup, I insist about telegram and create an admin user for you (all data is fake)

I could restore site and create your user ??

If it’s localhost, that’s gonna take a metric ton-&-a-half to set up. The other thing is, these forums prohibit such.

If you can’t register when plugins are disabled, then please go to your general settings & ensure that the setting is checked. These other plugins may have turned it off.

I commented on your video, btw. :).

register is actived (if it’s not actived the fields and form doesn’t appear).

It’s not a localhost installation (but I have WAMP and I try there too).

Are you commented in the video? I dont see you.
