• This is just like all the other themes. You have to install it and then redesign the whole thing to get the layout in the preview.
There is no point in having a preview, if you have to make all the changes to get the layout you want, you could do that with every other theme.
    Another pointless theme.
The sooner one of the designers of these themes actually makes one you don’t need to redesign yourself the better.

  • Sure, and they are complaining about the same thing as you, that they need to customize things to get the layout they want. If you and the other few ( this theme has 4.5/5 star reviews ) just bothered reading the discription of the theme they are complaining about, they would not have used the theme to start with:

The default Storefront design is clean and simplethe perfect starting point from which to customise your store to match your brand, whether that’s using the WordPress customizer or a custom plugin / child theme integrated with the developer friendly codebase.

Do yourself a favour and inform and educate yourself. Do not complain, ask questions instead on forums, I am sure there will be lots of friendly free volunteers to help you find your way in WordPress and Woocommerce.

Arriving late to this one, apologies!

@berdencott I’m wondering whether you’ve actually configured the homepage? From all the messages in this topic one of the main points seems to be that you want to have categories etc displayed on your homepage? That is most definitely possible in Storefront and very easy to do. Did you read the documentation? Take a look here for an explanation; https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/installation-configuration/#section-2

    Hi.

I tried using the settings storefront came wuth, but it would only list the products on the home page. The youtube link i was given is to a video showing how to make the changes, but even that did not work. After a couple of days of searching, I found a plugin that changes the layout.

I would expect this to come with the plugins you need to get at least the demo view, but I am clearly in the minority.

What you’re trying to do is really not clear to me. If you post in support I’ll be happy to help further though.

FYI The demo currently displays two sections of content that aren’t available in Storefront core; the ‘Hero’ component at the top and the reviews section at the bottom. You can do everything else with Storefront (and WooCommerce) alone.
