• I followed the instructions in the documentation to integrate mailchimp but although I could register as a user, I didn’t receive an opt-in email.

    I have just enabled debug and saw the following entries:
    [01/27/2019 8:20 PM] – SUCCESS: [MailChimp] Doing list signup.
    [01/27/2019 8:20 PM] – FAILURE: [MailChimp] Could not find a list name in your MailChimp account that matches with the target list name: Social Vector Members

    However the list does exist as I copy and pasted the name from Mailchimp. Shame I can’t attached a screenshot but the list is in Mailchimp as: Social Vector Members

    Thanks but I have already seen that via another support question and followed the steps exactly (using a paid level). The emails are not going to the spam folder either

    Did you also check the following troubleshooting steps?

    The following are the common causes of failure:

    1- There is a typo in the list name (if the list name does not match then the request to signup will be ignored by mailchimp)
    2- You are trying to signup using an email address that is already on the list (mailchimp may ignore signup request if the email address is already on that list)
    3- Signup worked correctly but the opt-in email went to the junk mail folder

    Hi,

    I am not sure whether you misread my responses

    1. I have already said that I copied and pasted the list name to avoid any mistakes. I checked for trailing spaces too

    2. The email address has not been used to sign up to mailchimp before. I encountered this issue when testing in Mailchimp so I am aware of this

    3. I have already checked the spam/junk folders and nothing.
    I also stated the debug entries which says it can’t find the list which is false as I copy and pasted it. Shame I can’t provide a screenshot of the list in Mailchimp

    2. When testing mailchimp on a completely different site to the one I am setting up now using a different plugin, I came across the issue where I registered with an email, deleted the subscriber in mailchimp but further registrations with the same email did not work. After troubleshooting I found out that is safer to use a fresh email every time as deleting a subscriber from mailchimp doesn’t appear to necessarily allow the email to be used again. Maybe it was just a quirk of the plugin i was testing but I don’t use the same email twice to register when testing.
