    Very upset right now.

I activated this plugin on 2/2 and found that it made the LinkShare-created iTunes links already in some posts on my site not work. I literally, within minutes, deactivated it and deleted the plugin.

The previously-inserted links went back to being functional. Or so I thought.

I now check in our LinkShare and see that we have made zero commissions since 2/2. Considering we’ve made commissions every single day for the entire year, this doesn’t seem to be correct. It is still tracking clicks, however.

I have no clue what this plugin could’ve done, or if the commissions are going to a different account or what. I need to know how to get rid of it fast. Installing it was a huge, regrettable mistake. iTunes commissions form the bulk of the income I make off of this site. Any guidance would be appreciated.

First off, iTunes Affiliate Pro does not take your commissions. It simply rewrites the URL of the standard iTunes store link to an affiliate LinkShare link. Did you use the correct LinkShare affiliate ID?

If you have LinkShare URLs on your site, you need to change them to the standard iTunes URL. In my next release, I will write an exception to leave these URLs alone. You might be seeing a problem there.

If you deactivate the plugin your URLs will go back to whatever they are in the database.

Seeing as how you had the plugin installed for only a few minutes, I doubt that would effect your revenue and it does not alter your content in the database.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

I apologize for my previous post.

I am marking this as “resolved.”

The issue was 100% with LinkShare–the change happening on 2/2 was nothing more than a coincidence.

I’m sorry for leaving that comment blaming your plugin.
