My website TechBlog.com.bd had posts which were 11,000+ visited. But soon after I install this plugin, it deleted all the count and started counting from the start. And more worst part is, after activating this plugin it do not count the views of the new posts (post that were published after activating plugin)

What to do? is there any solution? plz I need the views back.

I don’t see why it will reset the views when you activate this.

if that happens, means your existing theme or plugin already counts the view before this plugin and this plugin just happens to double count it.

You need to check whether there are duplicated “views” field in the Custom Meta field.

I’m really surprised to see the [resolved] tag in front of the title. It’s not resolved, I believe.

You said to check in the Custom Meta. But where? I checked sql, but didn’t find anything! Can you please let me know where I can find that? And can you please tell me if I can get the previous views back?

I used to use “Top 10” plugin and the theme had it’s default view counter. I used to use both of them and they worked perfectly. But another admin deactivedated the “Top 10” plugin and installed your plugin. And the view is gone (view used to be shown by the theme).

Now again I deleted your plugin and re activated the “Top 10” and it shows the views of top 10, not the view used to be shown by the theme by default. ??

Had more than 11000 views on posts, and now they have 0 view. After visitnig several pages again I tried installing your plugin, it rests all the view of the default, not the “Top 10” views.

I have a habit to marked it as resolved after I reply it just in case it doesn’t get any follow up for the first time (I get a lot of that)

    Read https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Custom_Fields for custom fields

If I am not wrong, a lot of plugins are using the custom field called “views” and that is the cause of the conflict.

How you delete my plugin? Did you deactivate it then use the “Delete” function in the plugins page? If you did that, that means it will uninstall the plugin and remove all the data that it left behind and that includes data in the “views” key.

No, soon after installing your plugin I saw all the views are gone. Then I deactivated your plugin and then I deleted it.

Anyway, I’ll be aware from next time not to use your plugin ??

    Thanks for the support.

When the plugin is activated, it doesn’t run any code that deletes the views so I am guessing that it is just hidden from the view or something else.

BUT once you click the delete plugin link, it will run the code that deletes the view because it is doing the uninstalling.

Is fine to keep away from my plugins because one less problematic user, one less headache =)

This is clearly a user problem/plugin conflict.
