• If you run a site on a shared server as I do, this is not the plugin for you.

It will increase your load time by 2 or 3 seconds and is loaded with script that can not be combined to reduce the load time. ( FB External )

  • I think you don’t get how this plugin works. It creates a shortcode to implement Facebook comments. The increase in loading time you experience is because FB comments (like all FB products btw.) are a gigantic drag on performance because they are so heavy weight. (comes with all the tracking they do).

Also that JS you are talking about is all from Facebook, as you can see by the CDN that delivers them, so it’s not in your (or any others) power to compress them. So if anything you should give Facebook a bad review, since it’s their code. From what I can see the plugin does exactly what it says it does.

    absolutely agree with zapp_b.
It’s not about the plugin, it’s about the facebook API/code. The plug in is just a “container” that lets you implement in a worospress blog/site the possibility of releasing comments for the ones who are already logged via facebook. (almost the entire world??!!)
It’s up to you to choose if use it or not.

anyway, there are plugin that helps to defer the JS loading, so that your site can have the DOM and the html loaded for first, in order to provide best user experience to your visitors. I use wp rocket in example, a caching plugin simple and very efficient among the best IMHO.
