Hi @phatman,
Glad to hear it’s working for you! Please let me explain a bit about the file size.
Please take into consideration that 20.4 mb of this 21.6mb is located in the assets and integrations folder. This consists of several libraries which aren’t used on the front-end, but have an important function on the back-end. These are only loaded when needed, so won’t have any impact on your site at all, apart from some diskspace.
– The MPDF library (10.4 mb), used to generated PDF files for the Proof Of Consent.
– The Ace library (2mb), which is used in a CSS and JS code editor
– Several images (1.1mb), which contain the placeholders
– The shepherd library, used for the tour when you start the plugin.
– And several other libraries like these. I won’t list them all here.
– The integrations folder contains a list of integrations, each of which is only loaded when the plugin that it integrates is detected. With these integrations users can more easily get their site compliant, even with plugins which do no follow privacy legislation.
All these files are only loaded when necessary, and each file is important for the functioning of the plugin.
We continually are improving on our plugin and will continue to check for any obsolete files. Of course, if you feel there are unnecessary files, I’m very interested in hearing your opinion. There have been lots of improvements which were suggested by the community originally. That’s what makes WordPress such a great tool.
Looking forward to your response!
