I’ve noticed that italics don’t appear when I look at my posts on a phone (tablet is fine). Has anyone else noticed this? I’m wondering if it’s an issue with the theme, or if I messed up the CSS somewhere down the line.

  • Seems to work alright in the preview. Does it happen to all italics, or just italics in selected places, like headlines, or text blocks? Can you provide a link to your website?

Actually, on my device — Galaxy S4 — I also don’t get the itals in the preview. Under the header Paragraph in the second graf, there’s this: “Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, emphasis consectetuer adipiscing elit.” The word emphasis is italicized on the desktop, but it’s not when I look at it on the phone. Note that if you just drag the browser to phone size, italics show up, but in the phone browser it doesn’t. In the wordpress.com version of Ryu, the itals seems fine in both resolutions.

Here’s a post on my site with some itals:

The first italics shows in graf 6:
Someone said, “So how do we help people get a handle on their debt and encourage

“and” should be italicized. Let me know what you see. Thanks!

Wow, this is a Samsung Galaxy problem. I did not know about that one yet. Thanks! ??
See if you can work around it following the advice in that thread on Stack Overflow.

Ah, so it’s unique to Galaxy. Fascinating. I had no idea. I guess that explains why I could see the itals on my Nook tablet. Thanks for the link!

No problem. Thanks for pointing it out to me in the first place! ??
