When I use the page I made with the Colorlib Login Customizer, it logs me in, but takes me to a page that says “You attempted to edit an item that doesn’t exist. Perhaps it was deleted?” (If other users get that message, they might not know that they were logged in.) Sometimes, when I log in as a user that isn’t an administrator, I get another error message that sounds to me like it is trying to take me to a screen that only administrators can use, because it says that I need a higher level of permission. If it is remembering where I was before I logged out, is there a way to stop it from remembering? Can it remember where I was before I logged out, even if I was an administrator before I logged out, and I’m not trying to log in as an administrator? Could this be a problem with the form that I use to log out? Any help would be appreciated.

Also, sometimes when I log out it (1) takes me to the page that I made with the Colorlib Login Customizer, and at other times it (2) brings me to my home page (where there is a different login form). How does it decide which of those two to do? Can I tell it which of those two to do?

    Thank you.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi @jason975,

Are you using any plugins to redirect after login?
Could you please deactivate all plugins except this one and see if this still happens when all other plugins are disabled?

    Thank you,
    Mihaela

Thank you for your reply, Mihaela

I’m not using any plugins to redirect after login, and I don’t know if I should.

Should I disable all the plugins except for the Colorlib Login Customizer or a plugin that is supposed to redirect? I think you said there is only one that I shouldn’t disable, and I’m not sure which one.

To see if this still happens when all other plugins are disabled, would you please tell me how many different ways there are to get to the Colorlib Login Customizer page, instead of another page? I’m asking because I’m used to the Colorlib Login Customizer page showing up when I don’t expect it to show up, and not showing up when I expect it to show up. (That is probably because I don’t know any better, and not because there is something wrong with the Colorlib Login Customizer.) I brought that up because I want to test it in all situations.

    Thank you.

    Hello @jason975,

Please deactivate all plugins except this one: Colorlib Login Customizer.

To see the Colorlib Login Customizer page you can go to your WP dashboard > Appearance > Customize > Colorlib Login Customizer or in your domain: https://www.yourdomain.com/wp-admin

    All the best,
    Beatrice.

    Thank you, Beatrice

The Log In button at WP dashboard > Appearance > Customize > Colorlib Login Customizer doesn’t take me anywhere else.

Does the fact that the address you gave me has “wp-admin” in it mean that I would only be testing to see if the Colorlib Login Customizer page works for administrators?

    Hello there,

In customizer should open the login page which you can customize.
On this link you can see the customized page: https://www.yourdomain.com/wp-admin
It cannot be tested only by admins, anyone can see it.

Please let me know if you have any further questions!

    Warmly,
    Beatrice.
