This couldn’t be happening at a worse time. I can’t log into my WP dashboard — have been trying for hours. The email message I get says it’s because of “too many bad login attempts”. The links that come in the email which should allow me to either “release the host lockout” or “release the user lockout” send me to a Forbidden page — apparently because “The host has been locked out permanently”. It looks like I won’t ever be able to log in from this IP. I’m frantic. Can anyone suggest a solution?

Is there a way to uninstall iThemes Security from my server?

  • Was this ever resolved? I’m curious, I’m locked out too.

@bbrowne It was resolved with the help of a support person with my web hosting company. I think my security settings for iThemes Security were too high. After a few bad logins, it locks you out. After a few more, it locks out your IP! So it took some tinkering on the backend to undo the lockout. If you have this plugin, it could be the culprit.
