iThemes security wp-admin lock

  • I experienced a lot of troubles with this plugin.

    After enabling it just locked wp-admin. “No page found” or SSL error.

    What I did? Searched for numerous solutions, but only brutal force worked for me.

    1. Delete folder “better-wp-security” under “wp-content/plugins”
    2. Delete folder “iTheme security” under “wp-content/uploads”
    3. Delete tables starting with “itsec” in your database with phpMyAdmin
    4. Find “wp-config-sample.php”, copy content into “wp-config.php”, BUT first see all the DB details if you don’t already have it. Refresh https://www.yourwebsite.com/wp-admin
