It’s all gone Pete Tong

  • Okay, I’ve tried installing this a few times with the various CVS releases lately (including the latest) but I keep ending up with it a bit flocked up.
    Basically its problems in updating both a 0.72 version and a 0.71 upgrade from b2 0.61 and I get the same out of Memory error appearing
    SQL/DB Error:

    (French for out of memory please restart demon and re query (rough translation))
    Apache also flings up a slew of errors – but I guess if falis to SELECT DISTINCT * FROM b2posts then things like querycount are going to be mucked up as well .

    This only happens with the upgraded sites – clean installs work fine.
    Also import-b2.php calls import-b2.php.php throughout the steps
    It then asks for upgrade 0.71 to 0.72.php (not in CVS)
    config file is okay and the page still manages to call the side menu bar including links
    Any help would be appreciated by a very confused Scotsman…

  • You may want to upgrade your b2 first, then change to WP. I had to do that with one of my sites. ??

    Tried going from b20.61 to WP0.71 (worked) then to WP0.72Gold (worked) but when I tried moving to WP1 CVS 010104 it throughs up the same errors ??

    You probably should wait for the actual release of WP 1.0 to see if you still get errors. Could be something wonky.

    why are people more interested in upgrading then actually using blogs for blogging?!
    or am i being the cynical 1? ??

    Am I missing something here or did I read that WordPress 1.0 was going to be available on the 1st Jan?

    Your all probably right that I should just wait “but I want to play now…stomps feet in childish huff” ??
    Basically I’m moving server as soon as my current host pulls its finger out (NEVER USE BARGAINHOST.co.uk…..possibly the worst host in the world…ever…) changes my IPS tags…and when I do move I thought it’d be nice to move up to a nice shiny new version of WP – my current version is so full of crap its unbelievable – being an upgrade of an upgrade of an upgrade its ended up with lots of useless old files floating about – but I can’t separate the wheat from the chaff ?? …. silly christopher
