• This plugin has so much potential, but is overloaded with little things that cannot be changed or things that just do not work. You can’t even edit your ads without getting an act of congress passed and get Ad Keys. What the heck are ad keys? You can’t just let the person that created the ad edit the ad??? Ad Management Panel you say? If anyone ever finds it…please let me know because it is non-existent for me. Can’t find it anywhere.

  • Hi @lemiddleman,

Sorry that you ran into issues here!

Sounds like you had more of a support question here. It’s best to try our support channels before posting a review since it seems like you need some help to really get started here. Let me see if I can answer your question.

AWPCP has 3 distinct ways of managing listings.

    1) First, we support anonymous listings where the user does not have to register to place the classified ad. They do have to use an email address that is valid, though, and we send that email address an access key. They need to use the access key AND the email to edit/manage the ad this way. You can turn this on by setting Registration to OFF (Classifieds->Settings, Registration tab) and the Ad Management Panel to OFF (Classifieds->Settings, General tab)

    2) Second, users can manage their listings on the back end using our Ad Management panel. This requires that registered users place the ads (so we can associate them to a profile). You can turn this on by setting Registration to ON (Classifieds->Settings, Registration tab) and the Ad Management Panel to ON (Classifieds->Settings, General tab)

    3) Lastly, users can manage their ads via the front end in TWO ways:
3a) Without BuddyPress, they can do it using a shortcode from our shortcode list here (AWPCPUSERLISTINGS): https://awpcp.com/forum/faq/valid-awpcp-shortcodes-3-x/ That gives users a page to access when they are logged in to see their ads. After creating the page, to get this management mode, you can turn this on by setting Registration to ON (Classifieds->Settings, Registration tab) and the Ad Management Panel to OFF (Classifieds->Settings, General tab)

3b) With BuddyPress, you can do it without creating the page in 3a) above, but installing the AWPCP BuddyPress module along with WP BuddyPress. You’ll want the same settings for 3a, but you’ll using the “Listings” tab under the BP profile. You can purchase the BP module here: https://awpcp.com/premium-modules

We have a great support forum here: https://awpcp.com/forum as well as email support and our documentation here that covers this subject as well: https://awpcp.com/knowledge-base. And our email support here: https://awpcp.com/contact. Any of these would be able to help you find answers to questions that were posted in a review instead…

It seems that your review was based more on frustration and lack of knowing where to turn for help–I’m hoping that I was able to clear things up a bit here.

If you’d like to give it another shot, we’d be happy to help.
