UPDATED – Buggy and not worth the headache

This plugin has a bug where if you add multiple Email fields, it does not validate the form properly. It also has a bug where it validates conditionally hidden fields that are set as required, even when not conditionally shown, so the end user will get a seemingly erroneous error message. An example might be an application form where you have to indicate wether you are over 18yo, and if you are under 18yo then you need to provide legal guardian information. So if you conditionally show fields for “Guardian Name” and “Guardian Email” and then set them as required, it will break the validation of the form in two different ways for those who are over 18yo and trying to submit the form.

As a developer I have nothing but disgust for this plugin. It is so incredibly unrefined that it’s beyond laughable, given it’s position in the WP Plugin market.

“It’s par for the course, not great…”
I’ve been using this product for over seven years now I believe, and I’ve never been particularly fond of it. The form builder suffers from bad UX end it presents a lot of little errors. If you are a professional developer, and you scan your website for errors in the HTML, and for accessibility, you will grow to hate this plug-in. They don’t connect the form labels properly, and will group form fields and labels incorrectly. There is also currently a bug in one of their templates that outputs the heading tag, and it is spitting out an undefined value for the heading tag. I was going to report a bug, but it doesn’t look like they are clearing out tickets, and I couldn’t login to my paid account, for some reason, so I just came here to vent. But I do truly dislike this plug-in now that I’ve spent years working with it on a regular basis. It’s been mostly a thorn in my side. I’m not aware of a particular plug-in that’s got it all figured out, but this one sure doesn’t.
