    I’ve been dealing with my host and Apple support on this issue. It’s long and drawn out but I’ll try to condense it as much as possible.

    My feed (https://missedspotspodcast.com/feed/podcast/) has been working on self-hosted, Blubrry Powerpress for years without issue. Recently I noticed that the iTunes store (https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/missed-spots-podcast/id911759269?mt=2) has not updated the episodes in over a month. This is strange because if you are subscribed to the show new episodes still download and other services (Spotify, Stitcher, Google, etc) are updated just fine.

    Upon logging into Apple Podcasts Connect it says my feed has a 403 error. Podcast validation using 3rd party sites show no issues with the feed. Even Apple’s first support rep agreed with this but their validation system now continues seeing a 403 error.

    My web host initially does not see anything on their server side that could be causing this issue. I’m trying to get the IP address(es) from Apple that their validator uses to check with my host but they don’t think that’s it.

    I’ve attempted disabling every other plugin on the site and still continue getting a 403 from Apple. Is there anything that you can think could be causing this issue from a plugin point?

    Thanks.

    I did some testing with your feed and couldn’t find anything wrong with it. Based on your description, it looks like Apple is having a problem on its end with your feed.

    Apple uses 17.xxx.xxx.xxx IP addresses
    Also “Podcasts/(version number) CFNetwork/(version number) Darwin/(version number)” user agent for iOS. I know you said you’ve already checked with your web hosting provider but you may want to check with them again and make sure nothing on their end is blocking these IP addresses/user agents.

    My hosting company sees the attempts made by Apple and nothing is blocking them. I guess back to Apple I go.

    Hi, did you get an answer/solution for this?

    I’m having the same problem and there’s no issues on my hosting company end either.

    I got it fixed but I honestly don’t know what the issue was. My host said they did nothing on their side, Apple said they did nothing on their side. Go figure.

    @amypop: Please start a new thread in this form with your question and include a link to your podcast RSS feed so we can take a closer look at what’s going on.

    @shawnogordo Will do, thanks!
