    Hello,

I recently “upgraded” from Podpress to Seriously Simple Podcasting and have gone through every podcast on my site (feed https://maestromusicians.com/feed/podcast/music-affects-culture) to make sure that it was formatted properly for the new plugin.

Unfortunately, when I tried to submit my feed to iTunes, I received the message “iTunes has difficulty downloading episodes from feed”. This is strange, since on feedvalidator, I see all enclosure tags.

What I DO notice, however, is that feedvalidator tells me that “line 53, column 792: itunes:summary should not contain HTML: a (12 occurrences) “

I believe that the iTunes:summary is picking up HTML URLs from my WordPress “suggested reading” at the bottom of every post.

Could it be that this is the problem? Could this have resulted from the fact that I added my previous podcasts (which were in blog posts) to the “series” menu, rather than the”Add new” menu?

    Thanks,
    Daniel

It looks like there’s a redirect loop when trying to access your episode audio. From the looks of things, it seems like you are not adding the audio file URL correctly and you are leaving out the https:// part at the start of the URL – is that the case? If so, correcting that issue will fix your problem.

You don’t have to worry about the feed validator notice with regard to the HTML, as you are actually allowed to include HTML in the itunes:summary tag so long as it is wrapped in CDATA tags, which it is in this case.

If this has helped you then please support continued development by leaving a review ??

    Cheers,
    Hugh
