iTunes Program Summary changes to Episode Summary everytime new Episode is out

  • Hey,

    we have the problem that the iTunes Program Summary under PowerPress > Settings > iTunes does change itself to the Episode Summary everytime we import new Episodes from Soundcloud (which we do via Import > Soundcloud …). Same goes for the iTunes Program Subtitle, which does get changed to the Episode Subtitle everytime.

    How can we prevent this?

    Also the Podcast Title changes to the Blog Title everytime a new Episode is imported.

    Sounds like you’re importing into PowerPress after each time you publish a new episode thru SoundCloud. If so, that’s probably why you’re having trouble. The import function within PowerPress is meant to be a one-and-done process for moving an existing podcast to a new site. It’s not meant to work as on ongoing process for importing new episodes into your WordPress site.

    I see, well it would be nice if it would work like I am using it, since it does create Blog Posts automatically etc. for new Episodes on Soundcloud. Now I have to create a new Post by hand everytime. Still a nice plugin.

    Hello @teopmedia,

    You can still import like you do. Just keep in mind that in the RSS feed, the <title> tag is the podcast episode title and when you import it becomes the “blog post title”. There is no way around this. The opposite is also true, the “blog post title” is the “podcast episode title” unless you use one of the advanced features in PowerPress.
