Unfortunately I can’t even log in to the admin panel now so unable to try and resolve myself.

Do you have cPanel available at your host, and do you recall what file or files you had edited?

Yep, not unusual. You’ll need to use FTP to access your site files on the server – so ask your hosting company for help with setting that up.

I removed this code from the functions.php file. It took down my site so I can’t put it back. My host is ipage, I’ll log In and see if I can do anything but I’m not sure what im doing and don’t want to make more of a mess. Thank you for all your help so far!

That was a functions.php file in your active theme? If so, try using File Manager at cPanel to replace that file with an original copy. Or, and unless you have the latest version of WordPress and you were already using Twenty Fifteen as your active theme, try renaming the folder (break the foldername) for your currently-active theme to de-activate it and then see what happens if/when (as it should) WordPress tries to activate Twenty Fifteen in its place.

That worked, downloaded first theme files and compared the functions.php file to my one in my host file manager – they were different there was still some of that dodgy code so I took it out and I’m up and running again! Thanks so much ??
