Ive got it somewhat working

I’m having trouble with the way I want my site working. I started with a zen-minimalist theme and have made it somewhat into what I want. I have three columns of content each one is a different category. Except now I cant use the previous and next buttons at all. Is there any way I can get a previous entry for each individual column, so that it only updates that column or something?
