• Last month I discovered that my hosting company, Hostgator had changed my hosting plan without my permission and was charging me. This went on for ten months before I discovered it. When I confronted them they denied it and then finally only reimbursed me for one month.
I decided to leave Hostgator and go to another hosting company. I selected Hostinger and trying to move my website there was a nightmare. After three weeks I decided that they were too complicated for me and I canceled.

But now I can’t access my website and I don’t know what to do. I’ve hired two developers on Fiverr to recover my site and neither could do it. I’m not a tech person and I can’t do it myself. If any of you know someone that can help me recover my website I’d greatly appreciate it.

The IP address for your website points to Hostinger. If you canceled all your hosting and you don’t have a backup that you downloaded and kept safe (apart from your hosts), then your site is gone.

It looks like some of your content is available on the wayback machine, so you might be able to copy/paste onto a new site at a new host.

Did you change your DNS settings when you moved? Did HostGator act as your register or did you use someone like GoDaddy. If you didn’t change the DNS your domain is probably still pointing at your old site.

Yes. The DNS settings were changed when I changed over from Hostgator to hostinger.

@manoffavor You can contact HostGator and ask them to hand over your files and database. if they still have it of course.

Or you can try what @sterndata suggested. Either way you would need to spin up a fresh install on hostinger and point your domain at it.
