Did you try to place the embed code into a page’s content using the page editor? As you then discovered, script tags added to the editor don’t work correctly. Script tags can be added to template code, but then you cannot embed within page content, only before or after. If you want the player to occur within content, it can be implemented by creating a custom shortcode.

Before doing that though, be sure there is not already a dedicated block for this kind of player. Such blocks replace the need for shortcodes. If one doesn’t exist, one can be custom developed.
