Japanese entries all a single block in front page blog section

  • Hi,
    We use WP 5.4.1 with PHP 7.3.15 on 64-bit Debian.

    As you can see, on our website front page the blog section in Japanese shows the entries as solid blocks, without abbreviation and the “Continue Reading” link found in the English version.

    Yet the blog entries themselves appear fine (separate paragraphs and blocks) when viewed on the blog page itself. Only the front page blog section seems to be broken in that respect.

    We use Polylang on our site to work with English and Japanese.
    I could not find anything about this kind of error in the support tickets.
    It would be really nice to get this fixed, or to find a work-around.
