Javascript and JQuery not working after 2.9.1 upgrade

This error might be the source of the stuffed dashboard issue

Anyone know why javascript has stopped working since upgrade?

Seems the theme java issue is because the core is adding this script call after the theme has called its own jQuery script

Still not sure why the admin javascript is not working on another site.

I’m having a very similar problem but only on one installation (totally fresh install no plugins, default theme). Makes me think its a problem with that particular server. Any ideas yet, OzPoker?

Could it be the way the files were transferred during FTP (ascii / binary)?

I’m running into the same issue on my blog. I went and updated the jquery file to the newest version (1.4.1) of jquery and that seems to solve this issue. Is WordPress 2.9 shipping with bad jquery?

Don’t know if we ran into the same issue, but as for me, it wasn’t so much jQuery that stopped working altogether with the out-of-the-box 2.9 install, it was the “$” function that wasn’t defined.
In other words, the regular pages (as opposed to the admin) had been turned into a “no-conflict” zone.
Calling jQuery(... explicitly (instead of $(...) solved it.
