Javascript in Custom HTML widget

Hi,
I’ve generated javascript for an event feed for my homepage. How do I make it display? I tried adding it straight to a custom html widget on the Business Middle Right Sidebar (Spacious Pro), but that doesn’t do anything. I’ve tried various plugins (e.g., Code Embed) but can’t figure it out that way either.
