• I’ve been using the Agregado theme on my blog Inverse Karma (https://inversekarma.in) for a long time now. Today morning, after backing up, I decided to upgrade to 3.0. After the upgradation, the JavaScript features (the drop-down category lists) are not working. Can someone help me resolve this issue? Is there a fix for it (I’d like to know that before I restore my backup!)

    Thanks!

  • Exchequer598,

I used Agregado a while back on my personal blog so I am kind of familiar with it.

For some reason your site is serving the 1.3.2 version of JQuery. You can verify by checking this link: https://inversekarma.in/wp-includes/js/jquery/jquery.js?ver=1.4.2

WordPress 3.0 shipped with JQuery 1.4.2. It is possible than when you upgraded the new install did not overwrite the older version of Jquery. Try manually uploading it to wp-includes/js/jquery/jquery.js

It could also be a plugin conflict which you can test by disabling all your plugins and see if the drop downs work. If so start activating plugins one at a time till you find the culprit.

Also remember that Agregado came out back when we were at JQuery 1.2.6 so some of the syntax might have depreciated.

Please post back with your results.

    Thanks for the reply c3mdigital.

I was guessing that it had something to do with jQuery. I replaced the new jQuery folder with the one in my 2.9.2 installation and now everything works. Not a good idea, I know. Hope the theme author comes up with a solution!

I am glad it worked for you. I would not worry about using the old jquery file and don’t expect an update of that theme. The author no longer supports it but it is a good theme.
