• Hi,
I have been messing around with wordpress for a while, in 2.5 and 2.5 my widgets were good, and I was able to arrange them in the sidebars of any theme properly. This means that the javascript was working, as this is where some of it is used.
Now i have installed 2.7, and my javascript support is gone, my pages load all the time, ajax is impossible, no sleeky sliding widgets into sidebars anymore!! What is the difference, and what can I do about it? I’ve re-installed twice, and checked with my host!

    Thanks for any help.

  • Hey Andrew – I have upgraded yesterday, from 2.3 to 2.7 – and i have a .js that quite too. Have you found any help on this? The only response i am getting is the sound of crickets.

Are you guys talking about Javascript strictly speaking or about jQuery (or some other library like Prototype)? If you are talking about one of these libraries, I’m not sure which libraries changed between 2.3, 2.5, and 2.7 but its worth thinking looking into. A change in the libraries could break you script.

If it were me, and I were having Javascript problems the first thing I’d do is see what Firebug has to say about it. So get yourself a copy of Firefox, install the Firebug AddOn, load your page, and see what kind of errors you’re getting.
