JAWS and WordPress

  • JAWS is a text reader for the visually impaired. A fellow trustee of my foundation uses it, and tells me she is hearing “header 6” before every line. This is also what a JAWS forum member hears.
    I do not have a “header 6” phrase on the site, nor do a use a font size like that.
    My forum contacts said in his last message
    “There’s a list on your front page, which is where JAWS is reading the heading level 6 from for me. However, yes, I’m seeing heading level 6 on every page. It may be a misreading for the formatting when combined with your insistance on having everything in a heading, which probably isn’t necessary and would make actually navigating the site a pain anyway”

    Anybody make any sense of this?
